Monetization Working Group to Meet June 29-30 2016 In Mexico City

Thank you to all those planning to participate in the Monetization Working Group's (MWG) first full meeting of 2016, to be held on June 20-30 in Mexico City (with a special thank you to FEMSA for hosting this event at their corporate headquarters). 


As outlined below, we have an engaging agenda planned which will include updates on two recent/ongoing pilot projects as well as several items related to sustainability investment decision-making challenges that have been brought forward by our members. 


MWG Meeting
June 29-30, 2016 | FEMSA HQ | Mexico City 

Purpose: Share progress and explore the best ways to evolve the Monetization Working Group towards our aspiration of removing obstacles to better, more sustainable business decision-making.


Wed 29 June (2:00 PM – 6:00 PM followed by a group dinner)

& Thurs 30 June (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) 

  • Warm-Up: Purpose and agenda review; accumulate participant expectations.

  • MWG Update – Review progress and recent projects:

  • MWG Inaugural Pilot Results – The Nature Conservancy/Fundacion FEMSA to present insights and results from the Group’s initial pilot project, designed to scale-up capacity and capability in building a better business case for investments in Latin American Water Funds.

  • Ongoing Corporate Pilot Update: Kimberly-Clark & FEMSA update on activities associated with the MWG’s second project.










  • Review MWG Learnings & Our Proposed ‘Go Forward’ Operating Model – Explaining the MWG platform and plans for collaborative projects.

  • New Projects Review: Review and gauge members interest in commissioning new MWG projects, including:

    • Decomposing the business benefits for common sustainability investments;

    • Working on the ‘credibility’ dimension (including potentially setting up a clearinghouse for relevant peer and research data collected);

    • Completing additional projects to test critical tools and solve common problems related to building better business cases for sustainability investments; and

    • Testing channels and methods for scaling the application of our work products to a broader audience of potential users.

  • MWG Growth - Discuss member recruitment, rebranding and the group’s vision, along with associated communication plans for both our work and the concept of sustainable business decision-making.

  • Action Plans: For the remainder or 2016 and into 2017.

  • Adjourn
